As part of a historic visit to North Carolina, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, visited Holy Trinity Church on December 16 and 17.

On December 17, His Eminence officiated at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by Archpriest Anastasy Yatrelis, Rector of Sts Cyril and Methodius Church in Summerville, SC; Archpriest Alexander Logunov, Rector of the Reigning Mother of God Church in Charlotte, NC; Hieromonk Gabriel (Kvasnikov), Rector of the parish; and Priest Alexander Anchoutine, Rector of the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Glen Cove, NY. They were assisted by Deacon Dimitri Temidis, a clergyman of the Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY.

Before the beginning of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence tonsured Aleksandr Andreev, a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, to the rank of Reader.

At the Little Entrance, His Eminence awarded Archpriest Anastasy Yatrelis the right to wear the Epigonation for his faithful service to the church.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence awarded diocesan Gramati to Ivan and Lydia Dolgov, two of the original founders of Holy Trinity Church, and to Rodion Kornienko, the parish Starosta, for their labors.

Following the conclusion of the fellowship meal, His Eminence departed for Charlotte.

Photographs of the festivities are available here.
