PARISH NEWS During the weekend of September 15 and 16, a delegation of Holy Trinity Mission took part in the festivities marking the 10th anniversary of St Nicholas Orthodox Church in Fletcher (near Asheville), North Carolina. St Nicholas is located about a 4-hour's drive from Holy Trinity. His Grace, Bishop Gabriel of Manhattan, Vicar of the Eastern-American Diocese served the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Priest Onuphry Keith, rector of St Nicholas Parish; Priest Alexander Logunov, rector of Holy Trinity Parish; and other South deanery clergy. Numerous pilgrims attended the Liturgy, not only from North Carolina but also from the surrounding states--South Carolina, Viginia, Georgia, and Tennessee. During the Liturgy, Vladyka ordained Subdeacon Jonah Campbell to the diaconate to serve the needs of a growing parish. After the Liturgy, members of the delegation shared a trapeza meal with parishioners of St Nicholas, congratulated Deacon Jonah, and met with Bishop Gabriel to discuss the state of Holy Trinity Mission. |
