Abbot Gabriel (Kvasnikov) was born in 1968 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In 1994, he completed the Russian State Pedagogical University with the degree of mathematics instructor.
In 1996, he was tonsured to monasticism and ordained to the holy priesthood.
Between 1996 and 2002, he served in parishes of the Moldovan Orthodox Church.
Between 2002 and 2011 he was a clergyman of the St John Stavropegial Convent in Saint Petersburg.
Between May and November 2011, he was attached to the Our Lady of the Sign Synodal Cathedral in New York.
Since May 2011 he was appounted as the rector of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Maben, North Carolina.
In 2016, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York elevated him to the rank of abbot.

Father Gabriel passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2018. He was laid to rest behind Holy Dormition Cemetery Church in Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.
